Carrier Services from Stratos
Routing Services to Inmarsat Mobiles for Carriers
Stratos is the primary provider of fixed-to-mobile Inmarsat mobile satellite services to wide range of international telephony carriers all over the world. For our Carrier customers, Stratos currently offers the ability to route fixed-to-mobile Inmarsat calls to all five of the Inmarsat country codes and for all Inmarsat service types, on a global basis, either on a transit or direct-connect basis.
We also provide mobile-to-fixed and even mobile-to-mobile Inmarsat services to carriers who have such customer requirements.
Inmarsat-bound traffic originating in a carrier's network is identified as follows:
Inmarsat Country (Ocean Region) Codes
- 870 Universal country code (SNAC)
- 871 Atlantic Ocean Region East (AORE)
- 872 Pacific Ocean Region (POR)
- 873 Indian Ocean Region (IOR)
- 874 Atlantic Ocean Region West (AORW)
Single Network Access Code (SNAC)
This service enables you to successfully reach any active Inmarsat terminal, regardless of its location, by dialing access code 870. Stratos can offer this service because it provides access to the full range of the Inmarsat portfolio and to all ocean regions.
Mobility Management
SNAC is supported by the Stratos Mobility Management service. The positions of all active terminals are registered in a central database. By referring to this database, all calls are automatically routed to the right ocean region, regardless of the ocean region access code dialed.
Additionally, Stratos provides other Inmarsat Service Providers with missing Ocean Region coverage, backup and restoration services.
Stratos offers direct invoice billing with CDRs for carrier customer billing, normal net settlement procedures, and cascading settlements.
Stratos is an active member of both CompTel (Competitive Telecom Association) and ECTA (European Carriers' Telecom Association).
